Max Lift One Rep Max Calculator APPROVED FOR SALE on Apple iTunes

by Admin on June 1, 2012

It’s early Friday evening and we received a nice weekend present from Apple.

We opened our inbox and saw the following message header…

Approved for Sale in Apple iTunes

Max Lift, the one rep max calculator has been approved for sale on iTunes. Very exciting!

If you are curious about how Apple communicates app status/approval, see the image below….

App Approval Message from Apple

As you can see in the image below, we completed the binary and all testing in mid May when we submitted the app. It has taken 2 weeks for it to be reviewed and approved.

Of course it could’ve been approved much sooner if it wasn’t for a minor set-back. Oh well, lesson learned for our next iPhone app submission.

The dashboard shows a release date of June 1, 2012, which is actually the date when Apple approved it for sale. We have set up the app to go live Saturday June 2, 2012.

We have done this because the app goes live in the store 24 hours after its release date, and since Apple doesn’t clarify the time stamp on the release date, we are playing it safe by letting close to a full 24 hours lapse before releasing it.

The first 24 hours of any new app’s availability for sale in the iTunes store are the initially the most critical. We will discuss why in a future post.

Looking at it from another angle, people usually take the weekends off from the gym. Weekends are also the heaviest app download days on iTunes, so releasing it on a leisure day when most people are free to browse the iTunes store may also work in our favor.

Looks like we will be spending the better part of the weekend marketing the app. eh, there is a cold front coming in anyway it seems like.

It’ll be interesting to see how the market responds.

Till then…
